What is your typical process for building presentations?
It’s critical to understand that presentations are a process. They don’t happen overnight. In order to help our clients understand the creative process, it is helpful to explain the basic steps in developing presentations. Developing a presentation deck is a process and requires careful step-by-step milestones. Following this process eliminates many problems down the road and helps keep the agreed upon timeline – and budget – on track.
1- Agree upon the content and flow of the presentation
2- Wireframe. A wireframe is a visual guide that represents the skeletal framework of the presentation.
3- Choose a design. This design includes color scheme, fonts and the basic look of the presentation.
4- Implementation of design.
5- Final development of presentation.
Who works at TAOB?
Lots of great people! We have a team of MBA’s and designers around the world that will help you create your presentation from the ground up. Over the years we have developed relationships with great people located throughout the United States and our team is ready and willing to do what ever it takes to make your project a success. Many of these people are on contract with us. This keeps our full time employees to a minimum, eliminates a significant amount of cost and allows us to keep our prices low.
Where are you located?
Our main office is located in beautiful downtown Portsmouth, NH.
How do you work with clients who may be thousands of miles away?
Communication is vital. We use the latest technology to communicate with clients all around the world. From Skype, GChat and WeTransfer to Joinme and GoToMeeting we use the latest and greatest forms of technology to keep everyone connected.
What types of software do you use?
We primarily use PowerPoint and Keynote. Both of these programs are much more powerful than generally thought. It takes time, but much of what can be done in Photoshop or Illustrator can be done directly in PowerPoint and Keynote. We do use Photoshop and a few other graphic programs when needed but we keep that to a minimum. We are always on the lookout for new presentation software and also use Prezi, Sway, Haiku Deck and FlowVella. We are happy to discuss what presentation software is right for your job.
Why don’t you use InDesign?
Its simple: InDesign was not designed for building presentations so we don’t use it to build our presentations. InDesign is great for print projects but it’s not good for presentations. It’s frustrating needing to change just one or 2 lines of text and not being able to do that. We eliminate that possibility by producing all text directly within the native software.
Will I be able to edit my presentation?
Yes! We design almost everything in the native presentation software. While we also use Photoshop and other design applications, we try our hardest to build everything directly into your presentation – giving you the ability to edit the presentation onsite and on the road without having to know any tricky and expensive software.
What are the costs?
Costs vary greatly from project to project depending on needs. Contact us today for a free consultation. We will be happy to answer all of your questions.
What does TAOB mean?
TAOB was named after the 2002 Shadows Fall album “The Art of Balance”. Our founder, Dave, consistently names that as one of the 5 best albums ever made. Shadows Fall was balancing melody and aggression. We balance business and design.
